If your child’s speech therapist provides you with his or her own worksheets, it is best to use them. If you wish to use worksheets that you have found online on some third-party website, then it would be best if you clear that with the therapist first, as you do not want to confuse your child, in case the approaches to therapy differ between what you find online versus what your child’s therapist has recommended for you.
As a finishing touch, you can include a quiz or a class game at the end of the worksheet, with a promise that class would participate when a lesson ends. Preserve all the worksheets of your students as they would serve as a guide for improving your lessons and for monitoring their performance. Use a variety of worksheets which suits the learners’ level and are appropriate for the lesson in hand.
It is not enough to simply send your child to see a licensed speech pathologist once or twice a week. Parents also play an extremely vital role in helping their developmentally challenged children overcome their speech delay. By devoting just a little bit of time each and every single day with your child, you can make a difference in helping to accelerate the process of bringing your child up to speed in terms of his or her language development.
Parents are familiar with using worksheets in math classes. Even when the textbook has spaces for the insertion of answers, parents find it more economical to use worksheets so that textbooks can be resold at the conclusion of the class. Additionally, worksheets help to avoid messy textbooks where there have been insertions and erasures. However, few parents have considered the vital need for homeschool worksheets in classes other than math. This article presents compelling arguments for parents to consider using worksheets in classes other than math.
If you have read my article ”Helping Your Child With Basic Arithmetic? Stay Away From Worksheets” then you know that I am not a fan of traditional worksheets. After writing that article, I found another credible teacher who has written many ezine articles expounding on the benefits of worksheets. I decided some clarification of position is in order.
Homeschool worksheets have pros and cons that depend on the type of material the worksheet deals with. One advantage is that worksheets are very handy if you want to give your child something to do. Some types of worksheets are very easy to grade and can be completed without much input from you. Worksheets can also give you a good idea of how much your child was able to understand of the subject matter.
