When you start looking for printable worksheets on the internet, look for the following: age-specific worksheets that are designed to suit your child’s stage of development, rather than providing ’one-size-fits-all’ exercises; variety in the method of teaching used in each worksheet, so your child learns to understand the concepts and doesn’t get bored; worksheets that have been developed by a preschool teacher who knows what the school requirements are and what your child needs to learn; a set of worksheets that cover all learning areas is easier for you to work with, and will take up less of your time than searching for individual worksheets; and worksheets that progress from easy to more challenging to stimulate your child and prepare them for the next stage in their preschool education.

During my teaching career, an often stated statistic was that for information to be considered learned it would need to be repeated or practiced 4 to 10 times. More recently, that number of needed repetitions has increased to anywhere from 20 to 50 times. Currently, the word repetition is being used in a guarded fashion. But the main point is that it does take many repetitions for information to be transferred into long-term memory and to be considered learned.

The Worksheet Calculate event will run every time the Excel has to recalculate that specific worksheet. Basically if you have a formula and one of its variable changes and the solution to the formula changes then this event will run. This can be great if you want to ensure that every time a worksheet data changes are made that you update an external document. You can also set up the external document to update on schedule.

You can find numerous resources that cover areas such as spelling, vocabulary, handwriting, alphabet practice, dictionary skills or whatever you need as a supplement or to reinforce skills.

Is it easy? No way. It is hard to let yourself go and dream big. Too often we get caught up in the rat race of living month to month, moment to moment, those picky details. We do not let ourselves explore our true desires. Please realize this is not about what you can have. Those are just things. Things will not keep you happy. When you work towards the 4 hour work week, you will have the time to do the activities you always wanted to do. Ownership of ”things” will not help you do these activities. Quality vs Quantity Some free worksheets are not good quality – the pictures are fuzzy, backgrounds print grey or speckled – and children tend to notice these things. If you are using the worksheets to educate your child, you may want to choose good quality worksheets that encourage your child to produce good quality work. After all, it’s a little difficult to ask your child to color within the lines and work neatly when the worksheet they are filling in hasn’t done the same.
